The Influence of YouTube Video and Taboo Game in Teaching Vocabulary to Young Leaners

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of using YouTubevideo and the taboo game on vocabulary learning in Class IVA at SD MuhammadiyahAimas. This research used a pre-experimental method, specifically a one-group pre-test Post-test Design, and utilized a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 20students from Class IVA. Data collection involved vocabulary tests comprised ofmultiple-choice and matching questions administered as both pre-tests and post-tests.For data analysis, the researchers used the SPSS program to process the research data.The findings revealed that the t-test result yielded a P value of (0.000) < (0.05). Thisindicates that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, while the alternative hypothesis(Ha) is accepted. This means that there is a significant effect on vocabulary learningthrough the use of YouTube video and the taboo game, as evidenced by the increasein pre-test scores (50.75) to post-test scores (80.75). It can be concluded that theresearch demonstrates a positive influence of using YouTube video and the taboogame on vocabulary learning. The implication of this research was that usingYouTube video can influence students' vocabulary and create fun learning. Inaddition, combining it with the taboo game can influence students' creativity,confidence, and participating in group activities. Meanwhile, during this research,there were some limitations. Future researchers should pay attention to theselimitations to improve their research because this research has limitations that mustbe corrected. The specific limitations identified in this research are: (1) the mediaused had certain constraints, (2) the focus was solely on nouns, and (3) the sampleconsisted only of class IVA at SD Muhammadiyah Aimas.
