Abstract
This research aims to evaluate the influence of the Running Dictation strategy onthe writing comprehension of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 8 Doom. Theresearch design employs a pre-experimental method with one group as the sample.Data collection instruments consist of pre-tests and post-tests, measuring students'writing abilities before and after the implementation of Running Dictation. Theresults of statistical analysis using Independent Sample T-Test indicate asignificant impact of Running Dictation on students' writing comprehension (t =0.001, p < 0.05). The findings of this research reveal a significant improvement inthe experimental group, evidenced by the difference in scores between pre-testsand post-tests. This substantiates that Running Dictation can be an effectivealternative learning strategy to enhance students' writing comprehension. Theimplications of this research contribute to the development of writing teachingmethods at the secondary school level.
