Abstract

The objective of this research was to know whether or not the use of mnemonicstrategy and fly swatter game influences learning vocabulary in 5th grade of SDMuhammadiyah Aimas, Sorong Regency. This research used a pre-experimentalmethod. The design form used by the researcher is the One Group Pre-test Post-testDesign, The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach. The sample of thisresearch was fifth-grade students and the total is 40 students. In the collecting data, theresearcher used vocabulary tests in the form of multiple choice and matching questionsfor pre-test and post-test.In analyzing the data the researcher used the SPSS 23 programto calculate research the data. The result finding of the research showed that the result ofthe t-test is P value (0.001) < (0.05). It means that H0 was rejected and Ha wasaccepted. The alternative hypothesis was there is an influence in learning vocabularyusing the mnemonic strategy with fly swatter game between pre-test and post-test.Inaddition, it can be seen that the pre-test score (57.5) improved on the post-test score(85.8). It can be concluded that there is an influence in learning vocabulary by usingmnemonic strategies and fly swatter games.
