Abstract

This research aims to determine whether a classical music treatment impactsreading comprehension, motivation, and personality, specifically in the thirdsemester of English Education at UNIMUDA Sorong. Related to the objective, theresearch used a pre-experimental research design. This research populationcomprised students from the third semester of English education at UNIMUDASorong, comprising 21 students. The sample of this research was 21 students in thethird semester. In collecting the data, the researcher used 20-item questions for thepretest and post-test, 20-item level questionnaires for Motivation, and 60 Questionsfor the MBTI test. In analyzing the data, the researcher used the SPSS 26 programto calculate the data pre-test and post-test. After Analyzing the result of the pairedsample T-test, the Alternative hypothesis, which said that using classical musicimpacts students' reading comprehension, is accepted, and the Null hypothesis isrejected in addition to the result of P-Value (0.02), a smaller P-value (0.05) wasfound. This means the students' reading comprehension scores for the pretest andposttest differ significantly. Based on the data analysis from the motivationquestionnaire, with the highest percentage of 47.6 with the motivated level, it canbe assured that classical music treatment impacts student motivation. Also, the dataanalysis from the MBTI Test showed that the personality with the highestpercentage is 42.9 with the introverted personality, so it can be concluded thatclassical music treatment influences student personality, especially in introvertedpersonality. It can be concluded that classical music treatment impacts the student'sreading comprehension, Motivation, and Personality.
