The Influence of Guessing Game With a Flip Chart Media in Teaching Vocabulary at Seventh Grade in SMP Negeri 7 Kota Sorong

The objective of the research is to know the influence of guessing game withflip chart media on the students’ vocabulary at sevent grade of SMP Negeri 7Kota Sorong. This study used a pre-experimental research design. The populationof this study was students of class VII E, SMP Negeri Kota Sorong, whichconsisted of 142 students. The sample of this research was 30 students of classVII E. In collecting data, the researcher used 20 multiple choice items for thepretest and posttest. In analyzing the data, researcher used the SPSS program tocalculate the data. After analyzing the results of the paired sample T test, thealternative hypothesis which stated that the guessing game using flip chart mediahad an influence on the vocabulary of students at SMP Negeri 7 Kota Sorong,especially students of class VII E, was accepted and the null hypothesis wasrejected. The P-Value (0.000) is smaller than the P-value (0.05). So, the students'vocabulary scores between the pretest and posttest were significantly different. Itcan be concluded that the guessing game using flip chart media has an influenceon the students' vocabulary.
